November 3rd in Japan is a national holiday known as Culture Day. It is also the birthday of the Meiji Emperor (many national holidays fall on dead emperors' birthdays). I wandered around Osaka-Jo, Temmabashi and Tenjinbashi-suji to see how people were celebrating.
